Online Presentation

This is the second week we have our computer science class.

This week, we learned to make online presentation through Zoho. The most impressive thing about this web is that several people could edit one file simultaneously. However, the speed was not as satisfying as normal PPT due to the network.

This week, we continue to practice our typing skills. As typing like this would slow our pace down, our computer science teacher, Mr. Pete, assigned us to finish the typing lesson (on the beginner’s level) in order to improve our typing skill. In my opinion, typing in quite vital. I used to practice that, but I found that quite hard to achieve, especially typing only Chinese for almost 10 years. As a result, I have to get used to typing English as quick as possible. The mission was not complicated, but completely managing this needs time. So far, I am still working on it.

Moreover, we created a PPT, which is about “what is computer”. From my point of view, computer is a machine that makes our work more efficient, makes our life more comfortable and calculation easier. Years ago, computer was a giant monster, which was as large as several rooms. Less people accepted it as it used up all electricity around the area. Now, computer dominants the entire Internet world. People could hardly live without this useful and amazing tool. Computer first connect us with each other, with the entire world. Though many predict that smart phones will take computer’s place some day, we shall never forget the significance that computer brought about.

In addition, we learned to upload posts to WordPress.com. Through the class website, we can easily check each other’s blog and write our own articles. It was as convenient as Weibo, but much more formal than any other communicating applications. As far as I’m concerned, this website is not just for homework, but also for future life. In the future, I can track my life through this platform.

In conclusion, I leaned a lot in the class. I’m looking forward to learn more about “what computer is” in the nest class.
